The Ride is a Permanent
Say what?!
In order to get a portion of this ride to qualify for what is known as a Permanent, for those who ride brevets, Willy Nevin has submitted the route from SF to SLO to RUSA, the governing body of brevets. However, this requires that anyone who wishes to get credit for ~400k has to ride from SF to SLO in ~27 hours. I know there are a few other RUSA members on The Ride and wanted to let everyone know that there is a new Permanent option to The Ride - think of the hotel fees you can save!
Jim Gordon and Willy Nevin plan to start this ride around 8 PM Saturday night and ride straight thru to Seaside to meet the group for the Day 2 ride to Morro Bay. That makes it about 250 miles on our first leg from SF to Morro Bay. The official route is SF to SLO so we will have to go a bit further then Morro Bay in the 27 hour time limit. We then will beat all other riders to Monday breakfast and ride to SB. If anyone is interested in joining in, post a comment. I have the route memorized so no chance getting lost.
